The site and its data will remain stored within the hosting account. However, it will not be accessible until the overdue invoice has been paid in full.

How long can a website be suspended until it is terminated?

If your account is suspended for more than 30 days it will be terminated. When a web hosting account is terminated, the website and all of its data will be removed from our servers. This means the website and all of its files will be lost and unredeemable once an account is terminated.

How do I change my billing cycle from monthly to annually for my website?

To change your billing cycle, you can create a billing support ticket from within your account requesting this change. Or you can email us at contact@upandupspace.com where we will help you from there!

I pay monthly for my website. However, this month I found two charges in my bank statements. Why did I have a second charge in the same month?

A website has two charges associated with it: 1) a domain renewal fee, which is an annual fee to keep your domain active. 2) an Upandupspace plan has a monthly or annual fee. If you are paying monthly and saw two charges, review your invoices and you will find that the domain renewal fee occurred in the same month.

I am going on a trip and will be out of the country for 2 months. Can I pause my website while I am away?

You can pause your website for up to 3 months. This means your website will be suspended during this period and the next invoice will be generated upon the date you wish the site to be unpaused. Just email us at contact@upandupspace.com or create a billing support ticket and we will help you from there!

I canceled my web hosting one day after my card was billed for my monthly subscription. Can I get a refund since I will not be using my website this month?

Yes! All of our plans have a 30-day money back refund. So as long as you contact us within the first 30 days of your subscription renewal, you are eligible for a refund! Just ask!

What is a domain?

A domain is the URL or web address where visitors find your site. It is the name of your website, such as www. ............ .com.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is the server or digital space where you store all your files including photos, resumes, videos, etc.

What does DNS mean?

DNS stands for Domain Name Servers, which are the coordinates used to connect your hosting with your domain: Normally they look like: Ns1.upandupspace.com Ns2.upandusppace.com

I already have a domain name, can I use it with Upandupspace?

If you purchased a custom domain from a third-party provider, you can either transfer it to Upandupspace or connect it. In most cases, we recommend transferring, which helps you manage all aspects of your site in one place. Visit our guide on transferring domains to learn how to prepare your domain with your current provider and move it to Upandupspace.

Who is my domain provider?

If you are not sure about who your domain provider is, visit whois.com and enter your domain to see where it is registered.

Can I change my domain name once I register it?

Once you have already registered your domain, you cannot edit or change your domain name. If you want to change your domain name for any reason, you will need to purchase a new domain for $15/year. If you purchase a new domain name, it will automatically be connected to your website.

Why does it take 24-72 hours to update my domain?

It can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to get your custom domain working properly once you connect it to your website. This waiting period is referred to as “propagation time”, which is the time it takes for changes to spread across the internet. Once you have connected your domain, you can check your it’s progress across the web by using Whatsmydns.net. If you’re experiencing any issues with your domain after 72 hours, let us know and we will gladly look into your DNS settings to ensure they are configured correctly.

Web Hosting v. Web Domains

Your domain serves as the address visitors use to locate your website. Upandupspace serves as your web hosting provider and stores your website files. Even though they are closely connected, web hosting and domain hosting are distinct services. Web hosting involves storing website content on internet servers, while domain hosting offers domain names, which act as addresses for visitors to access website content. Think of your website as a house. Your domain name is like your website’s address, it is used to find the location of your website on the internet. Your web hosting is where your website is supported and all of its content lives, similar to the land which your house is sitting on.

WEB HOSTING

A web host gives you a place to showcase your website's content, such as text, headshots, reels, resume, etc. However, it doesn't give you the actual web address, like www.upandupspace.com, that visitors use to find your site. When you create a website with Upandupspace, they become your web host. This means they not only provide tools for editing and maintaining your content but also offer a spot on the internet to display it. Every Upandupspace website is stored on our servers.

WEB DOMAINS

Upandupspace supplies you with a domain name, such as www.upandupspace.com, which visitors can use to locate your website. Think of a domain name as a street address that guides people to your website's spot, but it's not the actual stuff visitors see when they visit your site. We provide domain names and help facilitate their registration. If you've registered your domain through a third-party provider like Wix or Squarespace, they serve as your domain host, and you'll handle your domain through them. You have the option to move your current domain registered elsewhere to Upandupspace or register a brand new custom domain.

How web hosting and domains work together

You have the option to link one or more personalized domains to your site, either by registering a Upandupspace domain, transferring a domain to Upandupspace, or connecting a domain from another provider. Regardless of where your domain is hosted, when it's connected to your Upandupspace site, visitors will view your Upandupspace hosted web content. Even if you have several domains, they will all redirect to a single main domain.

Paying for web hosting and domain

Each of our Upandupspace plans includes web hosting services. You can also register your domain through Upandupspace, or use a third party domain provider.

Transferring vs. Connecting Domains

Determine whether to transfer or connect a third-party domain to your Upandupspace website. If your domain is currently hosted by a third-party provider, you have two options for using it with your Upandupspace site: transferring or connecting. In most cases, we recommend transferring your domain. This way, you can manage all aspects of your website from a single service, and Upandupspace can assist with any domain-related issues directly. Connecting allows you to keep your domain with your current host while directing it to your Upandupspace site. Transferring a domain to Upandupspace (Recommended) Transferring a domain enables you to oversee both your domain and website within the Upandupspace platform. When you transfer a domain from another provider to Upandupspace, we take care of domain management, and you can access all DNS settings through your client portal. Connecting a domain to Upandupspace If transferring your domain is not an option, you can choose to connect it instead. This means your current provider continues hosting your domain, but with a few adjustments to DNS records, you can direct the domain to your Upandupspace site. This approach requires maintaining your hosting service with your domain provider. Your DNS settings will be controlled by your provider and cannot be accessed through Upandupspace.
